De Nederlandse volkszangeres Sophie Straat groeide eind jaren 90 op in de voormalige, maar inmiddels gegentrificeerde
volksbuurt de Pijp. Tegenwoordig schrijft Straat, samen met haar compagnon Wieger, over de effecten van gentrificatie in Amsterdam. Naast haar rol als vertolker van het levenslied, is Straat kunstenaar en maakt zij sociaal geëngageerd werk.
